ADElier, architecture education and built space
Project description
ADElier is not about teaching children "architecture" is about teaching them to think creatively about solving challenges, it is about using their visual skills in the thinking process. Another important message transmitted during the workshops is about the significance of the process in all the actions we do, the the steps significance until the final result is obtained, the anticipation and their visualization, the organization and planning being still two important aspects in this whole process. In this whole process, we understood how important it is for children to be connected to the built environment, to see it, to feel it, to know it, to interact with it, to keep them being curious about everything that surrounds them.And in terms of the built environment, we strongly bet on heritage education as an essential factor in the clear definition of origins, decisive resources of identity. Many workshops take place in the built space and in museum where we observe and analyze things beyond appearances. The workshops structure is designed in terms of modules, each module has a theme that gets to be un-- derstood through a series of workshops that combine the actual work from the working session, a fact that helps develop creative skills; going to the museum based on the fantastic kids potential to develop the capacity to observe and analyze; and outdoor expeditions, which support orientation, observing and activating all senses. All these interactions are enveloped and translated directly proportional to the power of children to understand certain aspects related to the architecture and the built environment, which are brought to the level and their ability to perceive certain aspects of living as a complex concept. In 2018 and 2019 we participated with the project in the StretDelivery Craiova, national event. The interaction with such a large number of people was encouraging for the initiative in which we believe so strongly. We also activated workshops that we conducted in one very special area, in which the activities happens in teams, consisting of one child and one or both parents. The interactions were fabulous, with amazing results, the emotional impact on the participants was immeasurable . ADElier for Architecture is a project that proposes to contribute to shaping a critical mass in terms of architecture education under its many aspects, being aware of the impact that it has for today and tomorrow.

arch.urb.Adela Trif, graduate of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism Bucharest, class of 2010. After completing my studies, I returned to my hometown of Craiova, with an enormous desire to make sense of all professional gestures, getting involved in a series of actions in architecture education and built space, from the conviction that education makes a difference on all plans and at all levels. I strongly believe in the collective consciousness, and at its foundation is the education that will make tomorrow's adults look at the city with different eyes, as a living organism, malleable after each individual or collective gesture.
