UN.SEEN IASI. STORIES. ARCHITECTURE
Project description
Created out of a passion for the city of Iași and Architecture, the cultural project "Un. Seen Iasi" promotes less known buildings, details, and architectural ornaments from the local heritage through educational activities for children and young people, followed by exhibitions and online information. The project is addressed to residents and tourists interested in the culture and architecture of the city of Iasi, regardless of education or age, and pays special attention to very young audiences. The events for children and young people organized within the project - guided tours and creative workshops - contribute to education for the valuation of local heritage and bring a playful, colorful and fresh touch on the image of historic buildings in the consciousness of citizens. Because understanding architecture requires spatial experimentation and observation, Un. Seen Iasi team has outlined some walking routes on the heritage map of Iasi in historic areas that preserve atmospheres with a certain identity: Copou, Cuza Vodă, Lapusneanu, Rapa Galbenă, Păcurari. Un.seen Iasi routes deviate from the main avenues of the on small streets, in alleyways and inner courtyards to discover places of tranquility and charm reminiscent of picturesque old Iasi. Project activity is organized in promoting these urban segments, bringing in the attention of young audiences less known valuable buildings that seem to be forgotten in the tumult of city life. Currently, in Iași, several cultural projects promote the local identity with original, attractive approaches, creating for tourists and locals new opportunities to enjoy the presence of heritage values in our city: Atelier SPRE, Iași - Old photos, Iași Travel, Tramclub Iași, Memorat. "Un. Seen Iasi. Stories. Architecture” joins these initiatives, being individualized by the playful and creative character of educational activities for children and young people, as well as by enhancing the less known architectural heritage of the city. The Un.seen Iași project started in 2017; in 2019 it was awarded at the Regional Architecture of Moldovia competition; in 2018 and 2020 it won in the financing competition from the stamp duty organized by the Order of Architects of Romania.

It obtained the MOLDOVIA REGIONAL ARCHITECTURE AWARD RAM 2019 in Section 5 - Studies, projects, participatory architecture for the cultural project “Iași ne.mai.văzut. Stories. Architecture".
