MUZEU LAPIDARIU . Extindere a Institutului de Arheologie ‘Vasile Pârvan’ - Beta Competition
Graduation projects

LAPIDARIUM . Extension of ‘Vasile Pârvan’ Institute of Archaeology, Bucharest

Project description

The project represents an exhibitional space of lithic and sculptural elements that are currently neglected, which belong to the Institute of Archeology ‘Vasile Pârvan’. The aim of the intervention on an urban scale is to bring together the two existing buildings of the institute and Nicolae Iorga Park, accessible from Calea Victoriei. In creating the architectural objects there has been a series of elements taken in consideration: abundant vegetation, natural light and the archaeological monuments. They also take part in creating the exibitional spaces. Also, the order of the structure generates exhibitional niches where the objects are divided into four main categories (architectural pieces – groundlevel, funerary – interior and exterior galleries, honorary/military/votive monuments – underground and inner courtyard).
