Ancient ruins from the \\\’60s

Text de prezentare a autorului

I'm Zsolt Edelmayer, photographer and cultural anthropologist. During my studies, I obtained a degree in photography in Budapest and university degrees in cultural anthropology and visual cultural studies in Miskolc and Szeged. I studied community development in connection with my job: I implement community-driven social development programs. The subjects of my work are the impact of built spaces on people and the impact of people on built spaces. I’m looking for urban spaces that their users endow with unusual meanings. As a photographer, I look at the world with the naked eye, as an anthropologist I notice the peculiarities of the built environment. I organize these into compositions and add further meaning to them through my camera.I believe that social and environmental processes can be documented by the means of photography, processed by the instruments of anthropology, narrated by the tools of photographic art, and experienced through communities.
