Spațiu public
Youth Park
Descrierea proiectului
The project of the Youth Park is a collaborative action of the citizens of Čačak who, through joint volunteer work, built a public space on the Zapadna Morava riverside. The development of urbanity on the bank is considered to be the beginning of a wider arrangement of the riverside, which was in a neglected state and which passes through the immediate center of the city. Over 200 volunteers took part in the action, building 0.86 hectares of useful space with various facilities, including a skate park, an amphitheater with a plateau, a fountain, a children's playground, as well as pedestrian paths and public lighting. With this initiative, the spatial-program discontinuity of the riverside was redefined, where the Youth Park connected the local Yugoslav heritage of the sports and recreation center "Mladost (Youth)" on one side and the pedestrian zone of "Most Mladosti (Youth Bridge)" on the other. Such a joint civic initiative managed to affirmatively influence the amendment of the, until then scarce, Plan of Detailed Regulation on this city area. The newly created space became a gathering place for young people, which further conditioned the organization of several different festivals and other cultural and artistic events. The focus of this architectural-urban project is the "Vladislav Petković Dis" amphitheater, dedicated to the celebrated Čačak poet, which was achieved as the end result of the process of persistent five-year struggle of a team of young architects and united citizens. The project of the amphitheater is defined by the morphology of the existing pedestrian communications, the natural topography of the river bank, as well as the century-old poplar tree, a characteristic element of the river landscape, positioned in the central axis of symmetry. As a uniquely shaped space, the amphitheater is conceived of three permeating functional zones:A tribune which, with a tree as the central motif, follows the natural fall of the bank, fluidly emerges from the defined symmetry. B plateaus of symmetrical surface, with a circular accent of the center, ie the stage. C planters with access paths, which morphologically define public space as a protective element of a small square (plateau). In terms of materialization, the surfaces of the amphitheater are conceived on the modern application of stone cubes, as a traditional element of urban public spaces paving, combined with accentuated elements of white natural concrete, which together with the surrounding greenery form a harmonious riverside landscape.
